Marlin serial number date codes

May 3, 2011 · I see that 1947 is when Marlin started using letter codes to indicate the year of manufacture for serial numbers, but that the 336 was first introduced in 1948 so disregard my question. I confused the starting year of letter prefixes with the start of 336 production.
