R grimdark

Grimdark is a tongue-in-cheek term referring to the ludicrous, over-the-top misery and despair of WH40k, a setting so bleak it wraps around and becomes hilarious/awesome. More recently, I think it describes fiction that embraces a bleak, pessimistic outlook distinct from horror. Grimdark is too 'gritty, too jaded and cynical to be horror.
