Polaris ranger will turn over but won

Starter spins, doesn't start. So I've got a '05 500 Sportsman, and since the temps have started cooling off, the electric starter won't work. It sounds like it spins freely, but doesn't engage the flywheel. I can pull start it, and once it's warmed up, the starter will work. I'm at a loss. If so then the solenoid is bad. Or measure the voltage at the starter with the start button engaged. Should read battery voltage. jgue498.Take a pair of bare metal handled pliers and jump across the solenoid that is just to the rear and below the drivers seat. Be careful, as it will start in any gear without pressing the brake pedal.
